Nastar was our very first whippet, obtained in 2001! He was strictly a pet, but we began straight racing with him as a fun event. He was the perpetual turtle, but had one of the fastest box breaks I have ever seen. He was such a sweet, lovable boy that I just had to have another whippet. Dixie came into our home, and they became best buddies. I will forever miss my boy, who I nicknamed "Sweetness".
When we acquired Dixie, Surrey Hill’s Dixie Arrow TRP, JC, I decided to get involved in straight racing and lure coursing. I even tried my hand in the show ring. She was definitely the alpha dog in the household, and always put the others in their place. I said she was an iron fist in a velvet glove. She was my steel magnolia. I called her Miss Dixie, befitting her rank as leader of the pack.
One thing led to another, and Kohl was the next whippet installment into our household. I thank Karen Lee (Surrey Hill Whippets) for entrusting us with such a terrific dog. He was all that and more! Read more.
Leila Anichini (Diablesse Whippets) decided to use him as a stud dog, which gave us Aria. She became the foundation bitch for Panache Whippets. Read more.
